Single-machine Scheduling With General Costs Under Compound-type Distributions. In proceedings of the 2nd Multidisciplinary International Conference on Scheduling : Theory and Applications (MISTA 2005), 18 -21 July 2005, New York, USA, pages 630-642, 2005.
Paper
We investigate in this paper the problem of scheduling n jobs on a single machine with general stochastic cost functions, which involves the effects of stochastic due times, and with the stochastic processing times in a class of distributions, which covers the family of exponential distributions, the family of geometrical distributions and some other important distribution families as its special cases. Such a class of distributions is characterized by their characteristic functions. The optimal policies for these scheduling problems, without precedence constraints or with precedence constraints of nonpreemptive chains, are discussed respectively.

What is a doi?: A doi (Document Object Identifier) is a unique identifier for sicientific papers (and occasionally other material). This provides direct access to the location where the original article is published using the URL http://dx.doi/org/xxxx (replacing xxx with the doi). See http://dx.doi.org/ for more information
