Tours is a medium-size city with a big heart. Located on the bank of the Loire river, Tours is the capital of the Loire valley reputed for its historical legacy and its numerous castles (Amboise, Chenonceau, Langeais, Azay le Rideau, ...). Tours is not only a place of science and history, it is also a city of good food, a city surrounded by reputated vineyards (Chinon, Bourgueil, Saumur, Vouvray, Montlouis, ...).
Reaching Tours is pretty easy as it is close to Paris, Nantes or even Bordeaux. If you come from outside France, you should arrive by plane in Paris at the Charles De Gaulle airport or the Orly airport. From there, Tours is easily reachable by TGV (French name for high speed train) from Charles De Gaulle Airport TGV directly (1h30mn) or by Paris Montparnasse TGV train station (1h) after having taken the subway if you land at Orly Airport.
The Tours train station is well located in the center of the city and from buses and a tram are available.
